Dunadan of the North

The grey figure of the man, Aragorn son of Arathorn, was tall, and stern
as stone, his hand upon the hilt of his sword; he looked as if some
king out of the mists of the sea had stepped upon the shores of lesser
men.

The Silmarillion aesthetic | Mahtan & his wife, parents of Nerdanel

Mahtan
was a Noldorin Elf and the father of Nerdanel, the wife of Fëanor. Mahtan was a skilled smith in Valinor learning the arts of metal and stone work under the direction of the Vala Aulë. He wore a copper circlet around his head and was known for his fondness for the metal more than gold.

Mahtan had a beard, which was unusual for an Elf especially one as young as he.

The Belle Époque

The Belle Époque or La Belle Époque (French for “Beautiful Era”) was a period of Western history characterized by optimism, regional peace, economic prosperity and technological, scientific, and cultural innovations. In the climate of the period, the arts flourished. Many masterpieces of literature, music, theater, and visual art gained recognition. The Belle Époque was named in retrospect, when it began to be considered a “Golden Age” in contrast to the horrors of World Wars. A public’s nostalgia for the Belle Époque period was based on the peace and prosperity connected with it in retrospect.

N a m á r i ë | Galadriel’s Song

Ah! like gold fall the leaves in the wind,
long years numberless as the wings of trees!
The years have passed like swift draughts
of the sweet mead in lofty halls beyond the West,
beneath the blue vaults of Varda wherein the stars
tremble in the song of her voice, holy and queenly.

Who now
shall refill the cup for me?

Celebrían, the Lady of Rivendell

She is an Elven noblewoman, the daughter of Celeborn and Galadriel, wife of Elrond, and mother of Elladan, Elrohir, and Arwen. She was called the Lady of Rivendell. Her name means “silver crown-gift” in Sindarin.

Celebrían was waylaid by Orcs in the Redhorn Pass on Caradhras in the Misty Mountains. She was captured and tormented and received a poisoned wound. She was
rescued by her sons and healed by Elrond, but “after fear and torment” she could no longer find joy in Middle-earth, so she passed to the Grey Havens and over the Sea in the following year.
