The Last Journey (Frodo’s Song)

Poem by @tolkienenthusiast

Journey long done at last,

So set the sails and raise the mast.

I journey now to Elvenhome,

Where ill be cured and pain unknown.

For there is light beyond the sea!

Carry me, carry me.

Carry me, carry me.

Through shoreless seas and starry nights,

My path will lead me where there’s light.

So mortal shores, I leave you now,

With stars set firmly on my brow.

For there is green beyond the swell!

Fare you well, fare you well.

Fare you well, fare you well.

Dearest friends, I take my leave,

Though may I ask you not to grieve.

With gulls of white to guide my way,

I take my leave, I cannot stay.

For though the journey may be done,

The road goes on, the road goes on.

The road goes on, the road goes on.

Sam: Don’t go where I can’t follow, Mr. Frodo.

*Many Years Later*

Frodo: Sam I’m sorry, but I’m leaving to go to Valinor. I need a place where I can truly rest.

*Many Years Later*

Sam: Surprise, motherfucker.

Sam: I can’t carry it for you, Mr. Frodo. But I can carry you!

Frodo: No Sam, it’s just on a chain, you can easily carry it. Actually you already carried it before, it’s really not a big deal. Just toss it in and we’ll head back.

Frodo: Lady Galadriel, what’s that on your hand?

Galadriel: Nenya.

Frodo: Nenya?

Galadriel: Nenya business.

Just so everyone knows, according to chapter 1 the Fellowship of the Ring there’s a Hobbit family called the Chubbs and I would give anything for a Hobbit and Lord of the Rings rewrite starring Bilbo Chubb and Frodo Chubb.

Gollum, but with the personality and accent of a New York City cab driver.

“Wait, you’s guys is trying to get to Mount Doom, and you wanna go through the Black Gate? No no no, the congestion that way is gonna be murder. Let me show you guy’s a secret route – not the best neighborhood, but whatever – that’ll get you there in half the time.”

Happy winter!

September 22nd | Happy birthday, Bilbo and Frodo Baggins!

Tolkien quotes to inspire wanderlust

“He found himself wondering at times, especially in the autumn, about the wild lands, and strange visions of mountains that he had never seen came into his dreams.”

J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring

“It’s a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don’t keep your feet, there’s no knowing where you might be swept off to.”

Bilbo Baggins

(The Fellowship of the Ring, Chap. 3: Three Is Company)
